To put it a bit more crudely, I would say a degree that gives you very little earning potential right after college. Most good students who graduate from with a liberal arts degree carry on with an advanced degree (JD, PhD) and, of course, a boat load of additional debt unless you have wealthy folks willing to support your professional student ways.
You'd really have to look into each college. Generally the types of courses that fall under the liberal arts would be programs like psychology, feminist studies, criminology, philosophy.
