Legal Issues

My niece is 17 and living in the state of michigan. Her parents are divorced and she was told she had to go visit her father in accordance to the visitation schedule until she’s 18 or graduates from highschool-whichever one comes later. She’ll still be 18 before she graduates. What are her legal rights? Is there any way for her to fight this?

Answer #1

She’s already 17…even if she does try to fight this, nothing will be done until she’s at least 18…court proceedings take time - and lots of it.

She should just tough it out for the last few months until she can decide for herself.
