Answer #1

It all depends on what your interests are. If you really do think that is the right thing then go for it. But remember doing something vocational will only allow you to go into that certain field. Whereas if you did something more general you may have options if you are unsure. But the fact that you are thinking of doing something in furniture making makes me thing that it is one of your interests. I would suggest that you go with your instinct. You can always take another type of course after if it doesn’t go according to plan. Good luck!

thanks for taking the time to rspond, im not too sure whether the apprenticeship does involve me going to college, it might be onsite training:D

Answer #3

Leaving school in general isn’t a good idea ever, you dont have to go to college but at least get your GED or Diploma, if your plans on becoming a furniture maker fall through you need some form of a fall back plan and having no education will make having a fall back plan significantly harder.

Answer #4

i would have to go to college if that apprnticeship requires it.

Answer #5

Is furniture making really what you want to do? I’m guessing it’s not. You may feel like taking the easy option out right now (it sounds great- no school, and earning money!) But if you ever want to go to college in the future, you will need to go back to high school which could be time consuming and embarrassing. I can’t really say much on this matter as I left school at 16, but if I were you I would think long and hard about what you really want to do and where you see yourself in 10 years. If you really do want to be in furniture making, then go for it. Follow your dream, but I doubt your dream is simple, repetitive woodworks.
