Okay, I more than LOVE to listen to japanese music, and I've been teaching myself japanese for a year and 8 months now and can already speak in my own fluent sentences, but only simple sentences. I want to learn it a lot faster so I can understand what they're saying in my songs. I know they're not going to be saying that the sky is blue or what time it is, so I was wondering if anyone knows any good websites I could learn it for free. Anyone??
I had wanted to learn Japanese for a long time then I just called Pimsleur on this number 877-566-2629 and they were great in recommending me a course that suited my needs.
I'm almost finished with the CDs, but I have learned more Japanese with these CDs than with the 5+ Learn Japanese books I have bought and attempted to read. This is the real deal. I am planning on purchasing the rest of the series when I get a chance.
If you want to actually speak Japanese, buy these CDs. Even after the first lesson, you can easily see that the method works. I have tried many times to learn Japanese over the years (using books), completely unsuccessfully. After listening to these CDs, I can honestly say I feel more confident in my language learning skills. Although I haven't learned enough to actually hold a conversation, I can see the potential. The CD's teach you how to think in Japanese, not just translate word-for-word. The process is very fluid and natural and it is also lots of fun. Who knew learning a language could be fun?
It's great that you can absorb a new language effortlessly without any reading, writing or computer use. I put them onto my iPod and listen while I am driving and jogging. So many other courses require you to sit at a study desk. Definitely not for me.
If you want to learn Japanese do what I did and call toll free 877-566-2629.
You will be fluent in Japanese before you know it.
Something that may help and you can even ask someone to translate for you. Go to interpals.net. It is a penpal site where you can meet people from all over. I go there to meet people from Japan. A lot of them are willing to help with Japanese. If you'd like I could even attempt to translate for you. I'm not all that good but I'm learning. Maybe we can learn together? ^^;

Maybe I can join, too? I've been TRYING to teach myself Japanese, but I have NO ONE to practice with, and that's really, REALLY frustrating! Although...we might have to use Roma-ji on our computers, any?
