Kittens eating litter.

My kittens are a month old now. They have a litter box, so they don’t go all over my room. But.. they keep trying to eat the litter. And the box itself.

Why? And how can I stop them?

They play in it too.. but I expected that.

Karate_kid, I think they are teething. One of them has been chewing on my finger NONSTOP. I’ll try the crumpled paper idea. Thanks!

Answer #2

I don’t feed them. They’re still nursing. I’ve tried giving them canned food and they won’t eat it. So it’s not a matter of them not being fed enough.

Do you get scented litter? Try getting unscented, they might not like eating it as much. (it’s also healthier) Also they could be starting to cut their teeth. Try giving them something else to chew on. My kitten just started teething, and stuff like a big piece of paper crumpled into a ball or twisted into a bird-shape works well. (Just make sure it’s big enough so they don’t choke) Good Luck!

Answer #4

kITTENS DO THIS AND IT IS NORMAL, BUT JUST TRY TO FEED THEM MORE OFTEN
