kitten with fleas

I have a 6 to 8 week year old kitten that has fleas. Since the kittie is so young I know I can’t use any of the chemical stuff (not that I’d want to anyhow) so I looked online for alternative “natural” ways to get rid of the little buggers. I’m on day three and things seem to be going well.

Has anyone else tried “alternative” methods that were very succeful? Maybe you can give me advice on what I am already doing:

kittie has salt and lemon water bath with natural or citrus soap everyday kittie gets combed with flea comb kittie gets fresh rosemary rubbed on coat kittie also gets a drop of lavender, citronella (and sometimes perpermint, teatree oil or eucalyptus) house gets cleaned and vacummed as well sprayed with salt and various essentiel oils twice a week floors get cleaned with citrus soap once a week

what do you think?

also has anyone tried nitenpyram also known as capstar?

Answer #1

plain dawn dishwashing liquid is safe to use and kills flea’s “the blue original dawn”

Answer #2

use Dawn. And I do believe Revoloution makes a flea and tick product for kittens, we did have samples at the vet hospital. Or you could ask your vet for a Capstar, it is a oral pill.
