kitten colours

wonder if anyone out there knows how long it takes for a kittens colours to develop fully, we are getting a kitten which at the moment is mpstly white with just a splodge of ginger. thanks

By the time you get it, you’ll have a pretty good idea what it’s coat will look like (at least color wise)…the length may vary a little, but that’s all.

My cousin’s cats have had maybe 20 litters nearly of kittens. You usually can tell what colours they will pretty much be by the time they start walking, even sooner!!

It can take the kitten right up into adulthood to develop it’s coat. The colours will be set once the adult coat has grown out, but it could take a few months up to 2 years, depending on the cats breed.
