What kind of job could my mysterious, quiet male character in my story have?

For a story I’m writing I need a job for the main man. He is quiet and secluded from others….

Answer #1

You might want to choose a job where he is around a lot of people, so you can show that he does not join in with their chat. But really, you need something where he does not need to deal with the public or clients a lot. A general office job or something like a janitor would work. Maybe something like a plumber or electrician, but he does not say much and jut gets on with the job. Something like a mortician, working in a mortuary, would be a moe creepy twist.

Answer #2

Grave digger, taxidermist, caretaker, night watchman, night stocker, temp, noisy factory work where no conversation is possible, welder, taking inventory

Answer #3

Janitor on a boardwalk. The boardwalk i go to has a male charater like your trying to write. He’s names paul i know him but no one else does.

Answer #4

Private Detective. cause then the only time he has to talk is when taking up cases, but even then he doesn’t have to say much plus it really creates the mysterious character type.

Answer #5

Bartender, so he can be mysterious and silent while overhearing people’s conversation. Everyone talks to the bartender, so he’ll get a lot of information on people. And then, he can work as a detective or informant as a side job. Or perhaps a spy? They all make great mysterious characters and sort of jobs one would be interested to hear with a main.

Answer #6

A Plastic surgeon !

Answer #7

I’d say clothing designer. Something totally unexpected :)

Answer #8

Captures or kills demons…or a assassin

Answer #9

I’m liking the idea of an assassin. Thanks :)
