Just having a rough time.

Okay this time my life isn’t great, what so ever.

  • A close family member died recently, I don’t express my emotions and every one thinks I don’t care.

  • My uncle is in hospital suffering serious injuries, they think he’s going to die.

  • I’m struggling with my weight, have been for a while, I feel fat and horrible. I think I have ‘ED-NOS’ but I also don’t think so? if you get me.

  • I was dumped. I still love him, he hates me.

  • School. Can’t take it anymore.

  • After smoking weed, my short term memory has practically gone. I can remember, but it seems like I didn’t do what I did five seconds ago. Weird I know.

  • I was caught smoking cigarettes by my parents, also drinking alcohol.

I’m 16. I don’t want to talk on chatlines, or whatever, I just want some friendly advice on how to deal with this. It may seem like nothing, and everyone has problems, but its all getting on top of me. Please help a little?

I’ve had similar problems, im sorry to hear about the death in your family, and about your uncle. *sometimes it is best to just let everyone know how you feel, even if you dont want to. I bottle everything up but I know that I just break down eventually, so, even if its just for other peoples sake -and you dont need to voice your feelings- maybe they need you to. They might want to knwo how you feel, they are all probably feeling the same and its reassuring to know that you are no the only one.

*This is completely out of your hands, it is a horrible thing to happen and you shouldnt have to experience it, but there is worrying will do nothing. Your best to see him as often as possible, let him know you love him and hope to god he pulls through.

  • Your weight is something that you can change, and probably something that will make you feel a lot better. You need to look after yourself, if you are overweight and you dont want to be, then you should try your best to change it. It may be that your not overweight and have a bad body image, so be sensible. Dont abuse your body - I did, and its not worth it. It can be really easy to get into bad habits, but it will damage you and its best to sort it out now.

*This is another thing you cant help right now. You should try and sort yourself out before you look to others, because unless you start loving yourself, no one else will. It is horrible to have this happening but its part of life, talk to other guys and find someone else that makes you feel good.

  • You havent really specified whats going on here, but with everything you have going on, I would say you need school right now. focus on your work, get your head down and it will be worth it. I sound sooo bossy right now but seriously you will be so dissappointed in yourself if you let your schoolwork go. And it wont make anything easier.

  • If you havent already, stop with the weed. Its not good that it is effecting you like that but you will often find that if you give up w you memory will improve again, you just have to give it time.

  • smoking is a waste of money and sooo damaging, just try and give up. not for what your parents think of you, but for you. Its dissappointing to any parent to have caught a child doing these things, but they will get over it and we’ve all done it at some point. I cant lecture you on drinkign because I do too.

I am also 16, I’ve also lost a family member, my mum has a heart problem and I used to be anerexic, I’ve loved and lost and tried everything under the sun. Buttt none of it works, you’ve got to look at yourself and try and help yourself through.

I hope I helped message me if you want.

  • Try writing, a lot of times, just getting it out on paper, and out of your head helps people

-Stay busy, keep yourself involved in activities, hang out with friends, things to get your mind off of it all.

-Mediatation works wonders for some people, it helps to relex and let out bad energy

-See a doctor or a psychiatrist. Perhaps you need some sort of anti-depressent or anti-anxiety medicine to help you through this.

-Exercise, stange I know, but it increases seratonin and is a mood enhancer

-Take time every day to write down some good things about yourself, post them on the walls with post its.

  • Do favors or good deeds for others, it will make you feel better about yourself to be helping others. Try volunteering.

Just know that sometimes it seems like “when it rains, it’s pours”. Things will get better and your life will go back to normal.
