Answer #4

A lot of water parks and probably pools will hire 14-year-olds and they pay a decent amount. Also, many restaurants will hire 14-year-olds (the more expensive, formal restaurants probably won’t, so look at cheaper places).

Um, for the person who said that one of the answers were giving out false informtion: YOU, ARE THE ONE THAT IS WRONG!

You are allowed to work at 14 at fast-food outlets IF YOU HAVE YOUR PARENTS PERMISSION & A SIGNED NOTE ALLOWING YOU TO WORK. Otherwise, you must be 14 and 9 months.

Answer #9

Answer #19

I think if the person really wants to work then I say let them I mean realy you want them to be responsible thats how you do it. It teaches them how to take care of them selfs in the future. Plus if they work now they can get better jobs in the future. I really would like 4 14 year olds get a job at stores and and like McDonald’s and all that kind of stores It would be very good.

Answer #20

Yes you can! My son started a lawn mowing business when he was 14 years old. I had to help him at times with hauling his mower and weedeater but that rascal made about $3,000 one summer.

The best advice I could give is to do a good job and show up when you say you will. People appreciate that and will call you again and again. They will also tell their friends and family about you after they see you providing a good service.

This is the time of year to get started before all the mowing jobs are gone.

Happy Mowing!!

P.S. – Unless you can use your family mower until you build up a little money it might cost your about $300 for basic equipment. You can always find used items on Craigslist.com

Ok ppls I just gort this from a GOVERNMENT site so it should be accurate. so 4 you people who say you cant work in a restaurant a 14 you are wrong. http://www.youthrules.dol.gov/teens/default.htm What Hours Can Youth Work? If you are 14 or 15, you can work . . . What Jobs Can Youth Do? If you’re 14: You can deliver newspapers. You can work as a baby-sitter. You can work as an actor or performer in motion pictures, television, theater or radio. You can work in a business solely owned or operated by your parents. You can work on a farm owned or operated by your parents.

Fourteen- and 15-year-olds may work in grocery stores and supermarkets, but only in certain jobs. • They may perform cashiering, shelf stocking, and the bagging and carrying out of customer orders. • They may perform clean up work, including the use of vacuum cleaners and floor waxers. • They may perform limited cooking duties involving electric or gas grills that do not entail cooking over an open flame. They may also cook with deep fryers that are equipped with and utilize devices that automatically raise and lower the “baskets” into and out of the hot grease of oil. They may not operate NIECO broilers, rotisseries, pressure cookers or fryolators. • They may not perform any baking. • They may not operate, clean, set-up, adjust, repair or oil power-driven machines including food slicers, processors, or mixers. • They may clean kitchen surfaces and non-power-driven equipment, and filter, transport and dispose of cooking oil, but only when the temperature of the surfaces and oils do not exceed 100ºF. • They may not operate power-driven lawn mowers or cutters or work in freezers or meat coolers.
