It's so disgusting..

My Cat has a bunch of scabs that bleed, that itch, and when she scratches sometimes they fall off with clumps of hair.. I wish I could take her to the vet, but no one is home to help for the next few weeks!!! what can I do to help? can a series of baths work cause that’s pretty much all I have for it. I want her to get better as fast as possible. my grandmother says it might be mange, but I don’t know what it really is.

Answer #1

It would have to be determine by a vet they could do some skin scraping.

Answer #2

How do I get rid of it??? :(

Answer #3

u can ring the vet and explain over the phone, sometimes if ure vet isnt busy you can have a convo and explain whats happening, they will give you advice on what to do. … mange is realy bad and can spread fast, I hope ure cat isnt in any pain:( try and get to the pet store and ask one of the staff for advice they can recomend something they might have in there store. but try not to give urecat a bath felines dont like water. if you can get a warm water cloth and brush it down a lil. that may help.

Answer #4

It could be sensitivity to fleas.

Mange is a persistent and contagious disease of the skin causing inflammation and itching and loss of hair; affects domestic animals and sometimes people.

Answer #5

She also may have contact allergies…that too has to be determined by a Vet…

We did have a stray move in to the business next door…and before we finally caught him and got him to the Vet (he had something similar to your cat…scabby, raw looking skin…and his fur was so thin, you could see thru it to his skin) All of this was caused by scratching…Anyway, we bought him Taste of the Wild cat food…it has no grain…and he started looking better, anyway. The Vet said he’s allergic to many things…some of which are far worse in the spring and summer…

So maybe try getting her on some grain free food…
