why isn't clear/transparent/invisible a color?

I think it should be since when ask what color is that window u say clear

Something can be a colour, but still be transparent..for example, a window can be transparent and blue. Transparency is not a colour, nor is “clear”. Just like something can be opaque in a range of colours.
