Is my female dog pregnant

My female shitzu is in heat and I didn’t notice it until one morning (blood evrywhere) ! My male dog was trying to smell her and she kept on nipping at him to stop. Now he just stays away from her and they don’t play as usual. She has a dark pillow she sleeps on and every now and then there are wet spots all over her bed. is she pregnant. I guess I missed the actual tie if they did do it! So I’m thinking they did! And do they get pregnant right away? Any thoughts Thanx

Since you don’t know if they tied or not, you’re going to have to wait a month, and take her in for an ultrasound…or wait two months and see if she has pups. Most males won’t leave them alone when they are in heat…if your male is young, he might be more confused than aroused…not all male dogs know automatically how to do it…

I am not a dog expert, nor do I claim to be but it might be signers of her in heat and not pregnancey but I would go to a vet anyways to be safe, or look it up on google.

Is she on her period because dogs have periods to?
