Is it true that people are made for each other?

actually there is this really interesting story in plato’s symposium where a aristophanes gives a speech about love. He says that in the beginning, there were three sets of spherical human species: two men attatched to one another, two women together, and one man and one woman together. And they sort of looked like spheres, and they had always been together, and did everything together. There was no need for love because everyone already had been born (I assume) with their soul mate. But one day, they all decide to try to reach the heavens with the gods. But Zeus gets angry and decides to split them all in half and seperate everyone. And that is why you are looking for your “other half”! Interesting right?

I do not think people are made for each other. I do however think that a person and compliment and almost complete the other person. True Love is not as easy as people think it is, and that’s why relationships end. It’s not as easy as “oh, we love each other and everything is great!”, real relationships take work. It takes comprimise and selflessness. It takes communication. It takes understanding and forgivness. It’s easy to fall in love, it take work to make it last. Some people just dont want to put forth the effort.
