Is it safe to take sleeping pills while pregnant?

Pregnant women having trouble sleeping and need to take sleeping pills, can it harm the baby?

Answer #1

It depends on the sleeping pill in question. Ask your doctor.

Answer #2

Tylenol PM is the ONLY thing my midwife said was ok. It works well enough… But she said definitely no to other pills. So you’ll need to check with your doctor for sure, but suggest Tylenol PM and see what she says.

Answer #3

As far as I know ALMOST no sleeping pill is safe to use when you are pregnant. Before taking any sleeping pills, always consult your doctor or pharmacist.
