Is it really legal to download music for free on Jamendo?

hey I found this site jamendo.com, and it says that you can download their music for FREE, and its LEGAL, is that true because I really want ot download some music but I hate having to pay for it, buti dont want to go and download something that’ll get me in trouble with the police, if its illegal, so does anyone know if it’s legal to down load music on jamendo?

yes it is please dont do it it is killing the industry go to itunes or to the shop and give bands what they deserve

no technically music will not be free unless the artists or music companys say you can have my music for free to vendors such as sites, which 99% of them make you pay for there stuff so the sites which give you them for free are generally breaking the law and its only a matter of time before the site is closed and your tracked down and made to pay a massive fine :)

Hi,

It’s my understanding that all albums on Jamendo are released by the artists under a creative commons license…so therefore it should be legal to download.

However, check their FAQ for confirmation.
