Is it okay to break a promise?
Okay, the other day, my mom told me abunch of people are coming over to my house on Sunday because my grandpa is going to propose to my nannie :) My mom told me to promise her that I wouldn’t tell my little brother because he’s a blabber mouth. But I heard my mom talking about how the house is a mess & doesn’t want anyone to see it. & during the day, I’m usually home by myself with my brother. I was thinking that I’d clean the house super good for my mom on Sunday. But I need to have my brothers help. Should I just tell him he’s going to propose to her, & I need his help with cleaning the house reallly bad?
No, you mum would be really upset if she found out. Just tell him you need his help but it’s a surprise and all you know is that people are coming over for a visit.

No way! Tell him something else. Like, mom said the house was really dirty and I want to surprise her, so help me clean. or say someone is comming over and the house needs to be clean, or something like that, but don’t tell him why. Just tell him to help you.
