Is flavored water the same as regular water?

I know to keep healthy, you should drink A LOT of water, me playing sports I do, but off the court I get bored of the taste of water, so I go to pop and such. But if I add the little flavor packets, is that the same thing as drinking plain water? Or does it not count?!

Answer #1

The fruit adds more nutrients, but normal water is indeed pure and good for you that way as well.

Answer #2

yeah, vitamin water and like the powerade water just has extra crap in it thats good for you and is only a couple calories so they wont do you any harm, I drink vitamin water everyday before I go to track practice and I do just fine.

crystal light can be kinda sugary.

Answer #3

Yeah flavored water is good for you! They also have flavored tea packets that you can pour in water too. Those are good also.

Answer #4

nope, because flavored water has ingredients, and water is PURE. :]

Answer #5

I drink fruit 2 o it hasnothing in it and its good :)

Answer #6

you can always get those crystal lite packs that are low calorie… they work just as good when you are drinking water and taste really good. I use the raspberry lemonade.

Answer #7

Well, I agree that some flavored waters are better for you than others, the bottom line is that if you can’t stand the bland taste of regular water, flavored water is your next best option – certainly better than diet soda or other choices you might make.

Answer #8

It’s not the same at all. Some flavored water can actually dehydrate you. almost all flavored waters have some kind of artificial sweetener in them. The most common one is Splenda. (things that have artificial sweeteners in them are propel, crystal light, fruit 2 o, etc) Don’t be fooled by vitamin water or Gatorade, either. Gatorade is only healthy for you if you’ve been working out and vitamin water isn’t all that GOOD for you. It just has a few vitamins in it that you don’t really need.

Answer #9

You have to read the ingredient labels. Some flavored waters have artificial ingredients in them and you don’t really want that. I used to use the WalMart drink stix until I read an article on aspartame and now I won’t allow anything with that in my house.

Bottom line, read the labels on everything to find out what is in it before you put it into your body.
