Is babe a flirtacious word?

Just wondering, when someone calls you babe are they flirting ,or is it just a word thats like darling or sweetie?

It depends - most of the time I would say it’s just another word like sweeite. It really just depends on whose mouth it’s coming out of on how you should take it.

I would have to say no…words no days are being used too freely (I love you is a big thing younger people throw around and take back). Maybe 5 or more years ago, those words would have been considered flirtatious, but today, everyone says babe, sweetie, hunny to everybody…even people they don’t know! I had a man say “excuse me babe” to get past me at a grocery store. I wanted to sock him! But that’s how the world is now, I guess!

But like mandyloo said, sometimes it depends on the mouth it’s coming from. It may be flirting, but I wouldn’t go off of just that alone.
