How much can an IQ tests results differ from the real IQ of people?
Are we talking online IQ test or real IQ test? Online test are completely inaccurate and almost everyone can score at genius levels. A real one usually is pretty acurate but theres always some factors that can affect the results such as the person being nervous and having take testing anxiety.
Asking for both of them. And need to know how many points can it differ. Also International High IQ Society has its online test.Isn’t it valid?
IQ is a number and assuming the test is interpreted and scored accurately the score is by definition correct.
IQ is not a good predictor of academic or occupational success. While there is some correlation between IQ and achievement there are lots of indigent homeless individuals with genius level IQs and secure and successful individuals with IQs indicating retardation. This is the reason most colleges use SAT, ACT, GRE,GMAT, etc; these are much better predictors of success.
IQ is based on long outdated views of human potential.
Like Mandyloo pointed out, on-line IQ tests always score high. They are meant for entertainment and most people enjoy scoring high so they provide inflated scores.
Thanks for your answer :)
I don’t know how accurate IQ test are. I have taken a few online and2 two “real” IQ test while in school, along with several friends. People who didn’t seem very intelligent scored a lot higher than I would have guessed, while several friends of mine who where no slackers at school, and pulled good grades, scored rather low. I myself had a B+ average for high school(without really putting forth much effort :P), yet almost hit bellow average on almost all IQ test I have taken. Even the “high scoring online ones”. Now they may work better than I believe, and maybe I have just seen to small of a sample to really get a true feel for them. But what I have seen is your IQ != your Intelligence.
IQ is simply a number we use to supposedly measure intelligence. IQ tests (real IQ tests, online tests do not count), give you actual numbers. But they dont necessarily mean everything. It is debatable how much they really mean.
