What is a good intense sounding opera piece that would sound good in the background of a modern day radio song?

Answer #1

umm… music from the movie “phantom” would probably be good, and sound nice. :)

Answer #2

If it has to be Opera I’d suggest:

Ride of the Valkries from Die Walküre - Ricard Wagner The climax of The Flying Dutchman (don’t remember the movement)

If it doesn’t have to be opera but just classical music I’d suggest:

Night on Bald Mountain - Modest Musorgsky Mars from The Planets - Gustav Holst Symphonie Fantasque - Hector Berlioz Last movement of Dvorak’s Symphony 9 (New World Symphony)

The next ones are exciting in an inspirational sort of way rather than forboding

Les Preludes - Franz Liszt Last movement of Beethoven’s Symphony 9 (Choral Symphony) 1812 Overature - Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Fanfare for the Common Man - Aaron Copeland
