What is insightful learning?

Okay, so someone asked for help about this matter insightful learning for her psychology class but I actually don’t have any idea. I honestly told her that too but I want to help her out. I also googled it but no results. Can anyone know about this? Or share some site please? Thanks

Look at Kohler’s research on the mentality of apes. That will give you an idea. Basically, it tells how chimpanzees in tests, were able to look at a situation with no readily apparent solution, and think about the puzzle, look at what possible tools they have to use, and figure out a way to get to their prize, food. Huamns do this all the time, but this research showed that apes, and sometimes dogs and cats have this insightful learning ability, though it is more developed in apes. Hope this helps! Take Care!
