Infertile?

With my ex boyfriend, we had been trying for a baby for about two months (I know, not a very long time) but then we split, (suppose it was a good job I didn’t get pregnant) Months passed and I got with my current boyfriend, long term, we’re engaged, etc. We started trying for a baby, first month was a big fat negative, I then found out I had caught chlamydia from my ex, he wouldn’t test and many other factors occured which made me think he had it for a very, very long time. I assumed either this was why he didn’t get me pregnant or because we’d only been trying for two months. I realise chlamydia takes years to effect fertility, but as you can imagine I was awfully paranoid. I probably had it for about 8 months without knowing, It’s all gone now, I’m nice and clean. But I still haven’t gotten pregnant, been trying for about 6 months now. Every period I think it could be implantation bleeding, breakthrough bleeding, but nope, it’s good old Aunt Flow. Has anyone else gone through a similar situation of not being able to get pregnant? How long were you trying for? What did you do? Is it really just a waiting game? I find it so hard to believe that there are thousands of couples out there trying for a baby, when girls can go out, get drunk and come home pregnant, just like that. Do you think me not getting pregnant is anything to do with having chlamydia? Or could I be infertile? Or is this just the way it is and all I need to di is keep trying? Also, has anyone ever done a home fertility test? Is it clear?

Sorry about the million questions, this has just all been playing on my mind for too long!

Thanks x

I’ve never had an std or anything along those lines but my husband and I have been trying for a year not to get prego. I’ve been off birth control for over a year now. I went to the gyno today and talked to him about it. he wants to run bloodwork on me and see what that says. if that comes back ok then I have to get an xray of my abdomen which they put a dye in there to watch it go through everything..then if that doesnt show anything I have to have a laparscopy..to see if I have endometriosis…might want to talk to your gyno.
