History,

I also think you should go to your Mom. She would know the symptoms of a vaginal infection and would also know it doesn’t always come from unhygienic treatment. I have a 16yr old who sometimes also gets an infection and I keep a tube of vaginal Cream in the house for each of us (to treat it the sooner the better) You could find these Tubes of cream at any pharmacy very cheap and worth it to keep in your house.

The moment when you feel a twitch, you use it ;-) Treat it whilst it is still in a early stage!

Good luck

Go to your Mom and plead your case. Let her know that you ARE washing every day and it still was a problem. (Make sure you are. I swear my Mom ALWAYS knew when I wasn’t truthful!) If you can’t afford a Dr. visit, call and make an appointment with Planned Parenthood (here is where I would give you the number if you had where you live). They should be listed in the phone book.

The problem is likely to be a bacterial or yeast overgrowth. Washing external parts will do nothing to take care of it. Douching might help a bit, but will not really correct the problem. You should see a doctor so she / he can properly diagnose your problem, however there are over the counter remedies for at least the yeast infection, the problem being that you do not have the knowledge to diagnose yourself.

Good Luck!!

Its sounds like you have a yeast infection, is your discharge cottage cheese like? If it is or has changed since you started smelling the fishy smell its most likey a yeast infection. Dont worry everyone gets them they are beyond normal. They dont come from sex or anything. They say it comes from tight fitting clothing or not wearing cotton panties. You could also have an allgery to something you eat. But I think you should tell your mom and she can either take you to the dr or to the drug store and get you the right meds.

Thanks but everytime I tell my mom she gets upset and acts like she doesn’t care. It makes me really upset because she’s not going what I’m going through.

Answer #5

Hi again. Here is a number to call for the nearest Planned Parenthood - which is in Waldorf, MD [(301) 645-6800] If you can get there, you can go by yourself or with a friend. You are legally old enough so that you do not need your parents with you, and also you are old enough so that the medical staff cannot legally tell ANYONE the reason for your visit. The visit and the testing and the treatment might be free. At my local one they are, but every Planned Parenthood is different. If you can’t make it to PP, still give them a call and they may know of a clinic nearer to you. (And THAT clinic also cannot tell anyone what you are visiting for.) As a side note, you are getting to be at an age where you should be thinking about getting a pelvic exam anyway. Diagnosing your problem could just be part of that exam. I wish you well. Good Luck!!
