In the song American Pie, who did the word ‘jester’ refer to?

Answer #1

Probably Bob Dylan I read a whole exposition on the lyrics but this line refers to Dylan actually stealing some of Elvis’s songs and later Dylan is also the one looking like James Dean form a pose of Dylan in a similar red-windbreaker to Dean’s famous picture.

Answer #2

Elvis Presley - Don McLean was not a big Elvis fan and did not think he deserved the title of The King.

Answer #3

What part is that in?

Answer #4

I always thought it was bob dylan…”a coat he borrowed from james dean”-people thought dylan was deanlike in his early days…”and a voice that came from you and me”-he’s famous for having his folksy, unique voice.
