How can I ignore this guy when I present this thing in class on Monday?

Okay so I know this question might seem stupid but I had to ask it anyways. So I had wrote this thing for English that I have to present in class on Monday. I’m still feeling totally self conscious about it but I finally realized what was bothering me. It’s just this dude in my class who’s been kinda bothering me lately and I always feel him looking at me and I realized he’s the one totally making me feel uncomfortable about presenting. Stupid but true. If you knew him then you’d understand how kinda creepy he is. So all I’m asking is can anyone give me any advice on how to ignore him and pretend he’s not there when I’m presenting and how to not have him be a distraction? Thanks!

Answer #1

Perhaps at the beginning of class you could bring this problem to the attention of your teacher, and he/she will have a solution for you.

Answer #2

Haha yeah right. I can’t talk to my teacher. It’s not like he’ll ask this guy to leave in the class

Answer #3

When you are in front of the class presenting, try not to look at him, direct your eyes to everyone in the class but him…. Better still, picture the guy naked and hopefully this will make you more at ease.

Answer #4

Idea 1 : Give him a shirt that says “pretend I’m not here deeply staring at you! :)”

Idea 2 : Stick a brown bag over his head.

Idea 3 : stick a brown bag over your head.

Idea 4 : Don’t even look at him and focus solely onto presenting your project :)

Answer #5

LMAO! I’d get even more freaked out by him if I pictured him naked but thanks! I’ll try following your first suggestion

Answer #6

The teacher won’t do anything. Trust me. I’ve had this problem before. When I presented I completely ignored him and looked at everyone but him. I tried to convince myself he wasn’t there and he didn’t exist. I hope this helps somehow. And if he’s really that much of a creep stay away from him and if he tries to talk to you ignore him so he gets the point

Answer #7

Look past the people amd at the wall when you speak. Looking past them makes it seem like you are looking at them. Looking at the wall would make you more comfortable.

Answer #8

LMAO! You crack me up Miguel. At least these jokes make me feel better about presenting

Answer #9

Or plan B : Do all of the above :)

Answer #10

lol the worst part is he wasn’t there on Friday but yet the teacher said we couldn’t do the presenting until Monday. Ugh!

Answer #11

well no but I’m sure your teacher must know SOMETHING about public speaking

Answer #12

lol yup so true^__-

Answer #13

Oh gosh i know how you feel!! Just try to ignore him, its really the best you can do and have confidence. I wish you the best in your presentation :)

Answer #14

Just make sure you have NO eye contact at all with him and if he tries to do something to get your attention ignore him and don’t even look at the area of where he’s at.

Answer #15

Who CARES?! Just ignore him. Focus on your friends, the teacher, or the back wall in class. Don’t let anybody ever make you nervous to do something, when they haven’t actually really said/done anything that should make you nervous. Don’t think too much into it- Just get up there, present, and sit down again.
