So I had sex on the last day of my period, or I thought it was the last day atleast but it turns out im still on it. Is there still a possibiility im pregnant or would it have stopped even if it was in the middle of a cycle
I am a sex educator at a clinic, and the answer to your question is yes. It is possible to get pregnant if you have sex during your period. Every woman is different, and some women ovulate much closer to their periods than others. Some ovulate even before menstrual bleeding has stopped. Also, sperm can live inside your body for up to five days after you have sex. Your period would not necessarily stop if you became pregnant during menstruation, because the sperm actually fertilizes the egg when the egg is still in the fallopian tubes-- not in the uterus. Just to be sure, I would get a home pregnancy test-- just keep in mind that most home pregnancy tests do not give accurate results until ten days after you've had sex .
