if-then for english class help!!! please!

I had to write an if then poem for english class tell me if you like it and if you understand it

If I gave my heart away To someone just like you Then what would you say? And what would you do?

If you took it in your hand And gave me yours too Then we would be forever grand And me forever with you

But if you didn’t take my heart And kept your own with you Then I would have to break apart And start my life anew

And If I change my thought Then you must change too For I can’t live with half a heart And neither can you

I like it. The last line, instead of “and neither can you” I would change to “and neither can y-o-u”. Just a thought.. :)
