What are some good ideas for a tattoo in memory of someone?

My cousin, who was only 6 days older than me, took his life this summer. He was a genius, a master at the rubix cube, loved skateboarding and science, and was a very outgoing person who cared about people with such a passion. I want to get a tattoo in memory of how amazing he was. I want something very pretty, but nothing too big. Pictures would be greatly appreciated, or sketches if someone would do that. *I am getting the tattoo right behind my heart, so upper back.

honestly? if he was this great? i would be the best i could be, to remember him, and use his passing to motivate ‘you’..

it’s a very lovely gesture to have a tattoo, but there are better ways you can hold a memory of your cousin

it’s very sad when someone takes their life, more for those left behind, than the person who has left us. x

It’s up to you if you feel a tattoo is something you feel a need to do. And in what you know about him personally. What image you choose should be what you know and feel he would want representing him. But I have to agree with sooitca, the bestest way to honor his memory is to incorporate the postives about him in your own life. That is borrowing from his positive energies and making it a part of your own.

What you can do is go into a tattoo artist and tell them your story and tell them about your cousin, they usually are able to draw up something pretty cool and you can make tweaks and such to their design untill it’s perfect.

I’m getting a tattoo in memory of my grandmother and I’m thinking of getting a frangipani. It wasn’t just her favourite flower, she LOVED them, always had some in her house as well as her garden and stopped to look if she walked by some. Maybe you could get something he loved, or even his name with a cute background.

may i say tho… people… LOTS of people have tattoos.. and their… significance has been dimished over the years,,

please do not think that a tattoo is any reflection on the love you feel for him? or how much you miss him?

i stahd by what i said, be the best you can.. he will look down on you and be proud for that.. and in al honesty being the best you can, requires more work and dedication x

Oh yeah, forsure. I mean i have started a anti-bully/sucide prevention program all across my school district, and am spreading to other counties as well. I just thought it would be cool to get a tattoo in memory of him as well.
