A parent should have their priorities set right. I always knew I was more important than anything else because my dad would stop in the middle of his 10,000 phone calls (that would go on 24/7) to let me know that. Acceptance. Love. Caring (it means a lot when your parent knows what your favorite song is). Patience (and it also means a lot when your parent listens to your favorite song so many times they have it memorized, but they dont get annoyed when you play it one more time in the car).

  • Patience.
  • Knowledge to be good teachers and role models.
  • Trusting, but not blind.
  • Empathy.

My list goes on for ages, but these are basic ones I feel are ideal.
