What do you all think of this idea in regard to the recent school shootings?:

We have alot of veterans coming home who can’t find a job (which is very sad) Many of them are partially disabled. I would support giving them a job (if they wanted it) as school security. They are already highly trained, and their pay wouldn’t come out of the federal budget, rather local school funds. I could stand a few extra dollars on my county tax bill for this to support the local schools and help keep the kids and faculty safe. A good idea? Improve security while creating jobs? What do you think? P.S. This could save lives and help struggling veterans. Keep in mind that gun control laws are simply pieces of paper that won’t detour people determined to do harm. I know that’s hard to digest, but it’s been proven to be true.

Personally, I think that’s a pretty clever idea.

Of course, there would have to be a screening system … you certainly wouldn’t want a guard with PTSD walking around a school.

Answer #2

Absolutley. A very good point that I should have included. :)
