Is it a good idea to be walking around in Chicago with no ID?

It doesn’t matter what location you are at - its never a smart idea to walk around without your i.d. If something were to happen and police were involved - you would need identification to prove who you are. If something were to happen to you physically - your i.d can inform paramedics as to who you are if you are unable too, if your car gets towed, you get a ticket, you go to the library, you want to see an r rated movie and the list goes on - you need your i.d. . Your i.d. is used to purchase ciggs, alcohol, etc also.

You don’t realize how much you use the thing until you don’t have it.

mandyloo is right :) Here’s What I usually think about ID :P Always Bring an ID because if something might happen,Your Body Can still be returned xD ahaha. well,that’s my mentality ~_~” after all,accidents do occur anytime,anywhere.

I’m 19 and don’t have an ID, never have. I have never been asked for one so it hasn’t been far up on my list of things to do. But I also don’t buy alcohol, cigarettes, go to clubs and what not. If someone wants to know my name, there is enough cards in my purse.

In some jurisdictions it is against the law to not have ID on you if you are over 18. Not sure about Chicago though.

Actually in most countries/states you always have to have an ID with you. Police officers have the right to ask you for an ID document whenever they please. Theoretically if you have no ID they can ‘take you downtown’ for additional verification.
