You need to tell her that what you two have is not friendship material necessarily (especially not now). In this case, look at what you have typed. She is only asking you this because she is considering your feelings and believes that she is letting you down. Talk to her and explain to her that she is not letting you down and that you truly care about her. Assure her that you are happy as things are and that you cannot think of her as just a friend. You need to be true to your partner and to yourself.

Open up to your partner and help her understand what your position is. Relationships go through challenges like these (eg. a busy partner) and phases like these can teach you a lot about each other and your relationship (as well as yourselves). Tell her that you are prepared to wait for her and that you understand that she has her own priorities and that you know the world can’t stop just for you.
