What does notice left on usps mean?

So I sent out a mail. The mail was accepted, and now it says this?

“We attempted to deliver your item at 2:39 PM on September 17, 2009 in *, MA 02451 and a notice was left. You may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice, go to usps.com/redelivery, or call 800-ASK-USPS to arrange for redelivery. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.”

Can anyone help me on what I am suppose to do? or how do I fix this?

Answer #1

Lol they tried to deliver a package that was probably valuable, You werent home so they didn’t want to leave it outside now they are holding your package at the post office to go pick it up.

Answer #2

It means that they tried to deliver a package but no one was home. You have to go to the post office to pick it up. If you don’t get it then they will send it back to the person or place that sent it.
