I need help talking to guys...

Hi. I’m Alicia and I’m 15 years old. I know this is going to sound kind of stupid, and probably kinda sad, but…I’m afraid of guys. I know that’s pretty stupid and all, but I just can’t stand talking to them. Is something wrong with me?

I’m a very shy person to begin with, but it just seems easyer for me to talk with girls in my class, then to try and talk to a guy. I’ve seen my friends with their boyfriends before, and I think it would be nice to know what that is like, but I don’t see how that is going to happen if I can’t even get close to a guy without feeling scared.

Its not because I have abusive males in my family or anything like that! I love my family, they rock. But when it comes to somebody new, I just can’t speak up! And that really sucks in class because I was teased by guys last year for being “the quiet girl”. hardly anybody even knew my name in that class ‘cuz I’m such a coward -_-

And as far as dating goes, I don’t think my friends are helping. They try to help me meet guys, but whenever I do I just sorta distance myself from them. And Internet dating isn’t for me…It’s just kinda weird.

Anyways, I need some help. Anybody know how to overcome my fear? (if anybody knows how to cure a fear of public speaking, that’d be great too!) lol
