How can I get over him?

There’s a guy that I have a crush on. He has a girlfriend but this guy and I have some history. We talked a lot in 6th grade even though all he did was cheat off my tests but we still joked around. After that we didn’t talk at all but I felt myself developing a crush on him in the 8th grade. Now we are in the 9th grade, he has a girlfriend, and I have a major crush on him. Occasionally I may catch him looking at me but I always tell myself it’s nothing because I don’t want it to be more. Then again I feel like he doesn’t like me at all.

I need advice ASAP!! We are going back to school after the holiday break and I don’t want to be his girlfriend. I don’t want to feel so awkward and insecure around him anymore. I don’t want to consider him every time I go to the mall to shop and I certainly don’t want to feel that sudden shock in my heart when I get near him. I just want to get over him like any other cute boy I see wherever I go. So how do I do it?
