I just a new job but I don't know how to tell my mom?

Before anyone thinks evil things, I’m 21 years old and I just got a job at my friend’s mom restaurant. I had no previous experience except for one job when I was 16. The reason I never had a job since then, my mom was against me working while in college full time. Now I have a less of a load at school and didn’t want to just stay home. How do I tell my mom that I got a job even if she is against me working?

BTW: I do still live at home, rent free and don’t pay for anything except for bill that I pay with child support money that I still receive from my dad since I’m still in college. I just don’t want to seem spoiled. Is that wrong of me?

By you working that would prove to your mother that your ready to be independant not thats thats wrong. Plus you 21 dude spread your wings and fly man.

Answer #2

no, you need real life experience, im turning 18 soon and my mom just gripes at me for not having a job, but refuses to take me to get applications. I cant drive because we cant afford for me to get my license. so you are very lucky. keep it for a while first. and after a few months of being responsible by working and going to school, tell her. use that as proof that you can handle it.
