I dont know what type of tortoise to get

Me and my mum would like a pet tortoise. We want one that does not need to live outside and can be kept inside, also one that does not hibinate. What sort will be best?

ps. We do not want a turtle xx

I do not do not hibinate mine, one of which is a herman and I let them wander round the house and come in and out as they please. As long as they are warm and have food they do not need to, a sun lamp and heat mat my help!

I have a herman tortoise and it doesnt hibernate and is really friendly x

The Red Foot Tortoise is Probably your best bet. They can live to be up to 50 years old! They do not Hibernate and they are smaller than most. you will still need a large case for them though. at least a 4-6 ft case for them as they can reach up to 30 pds when they are fully grown!
