How to safely dye my hair?

Well I have been dyeing my hair for about two years. I had always used washable dye (the kind that comes out in six weeks) but right before school started again I permanently dyed it dark brown. I havent dyed it in six months and now my roots are showing (I have light brown hair, but the dye faded so it didnt look too bad) the back of my hair is dark. I want to now dye my hair black, but I am worried that if I dye my hair black, something bad will happen to the hair that still has some leftover (but faded) dark brown dye in it. Can I dye all of my hair black? The top part of my hair will be too dark if I dont color the back :/ please help

Go to the hairdressers. They will do it safely and properly.

if you wanna dye it black, get a permanant hair colour and put it all over then just dye your roots every 2 months - only put permanant colour on once in the beginning when it begins to fade by a SEMI-permanant colour and put it all over, this will prevent your hair from getting too dry as colours dry your hair out. make sure that you do a skin test beore use as you can have a bad allergic reaction to the dye even if you have used it before furthermore, good luck and make sure you get somebody to put the colour on for you so that you ensure you don’t miss any bits

I cant go to the hairdresser because they charge 60-100 dollars to do it, and I just dont have that money. I wont have it anytime soon either. I need to do this at home. I just want to make sure my hair doesnt come out weird-looking :/
