Have no idea what 40 pounds is equilavant to our Aussie kilograms (I’m too lazy to convert this myself) but here is a suggestion on some quick fix if I’m ever away from home and need to exercise and do not have the necessary gym equipments with me.

I use empty 2 litre soft drink or orange juice bottles, fill them up with sand or water and create my own instant light weight dumbbells.

If you need heavier weights, maybe tape some bottles together, fill them up with the stuff mentioned above, and add these to both ends of the wooden or steel bars and you have your own home made dumbbells (wouldn’t use it outside as you will look a bit weird ;) ).

Or, fill two sacks either with sand or rocks and uses these these as your weights, you can increase the sands/rocks to the desired weight (40 pounds).

Heheee, if all else fails, just pick up some fat over-weight kids and use them as dumbbells (only pulling this legs, a joke people).
