How to help my mare?

my mare sunny has been going off her feed (not eating), she breaks into constant sweats and has been cribbing like crazy. she just lost her foal after she rejected it. she also has little episodes of rearing and kicking. how do I help her? I dont want her to be a dannger to my other mare or to herself.

Answer #1

Sounds like her teeth need to be floated. Whatever it is the Vet needs to see this horse. Everything is indicating Vet visit. You could lose your horse. Needing her teeth floated will cause all the systems you are talking about because she is not digesting her food correctly.

Vet quick!

Answer #2

Yes…call the vet, and eliminate the possibility that there is something physical going on with her…Anytime an animal’s behavior changes drastically, a vet would be my first call.

Answer #3

I agree magichalo1! get her teeth floated immediately. My mare had the exact problem!! She’s fine now so just look after her and make sure you get her teeth floated quick, and giver her lots of love and hugs a bit of TLC!!

Good luck and I hope she gets well soon.

Answer #4

get a vet and play with her more so she dosn’t feel left out

Answer #5

Horses really feel it when they lose a baby. You might have to get the vet in to see if she is having anxiety.
