How can I get my period back if I lost it from an eating disorder?

Scenario time! Let’s say that I lost my period due to an eating disorder…you know, lack of vitamins, nutrients, minerals, and stuff like that. And let’s also say that I really wanted to get it back. Does anybody know if taking like…I dunno, vitamins, or some kind of “nutrient supplement” would bring it back? I really hope what I’m asking makes sense, and if anybody would happen to know, I would really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me. Thanks!

I just got mine and had lost it for the same reason. Just keep eating good and when your body is comfortable at a certain weight it will come trust me, I thought I was never going to get it again! but dont give up and keep eating healthy until you stay at a certain healthy weight.

ORRR

you can talk to a doctor and see if you can use birth control pills…thats what they gave me. I don’t know if they would think its a good idea for you. =]

sadly the only way that every doctor and friend and family member and the entire internet says that actually works is weight gain hunny. I havent got mine back yet either.. but no nutrients will help if you dont have enough body fat its all about the oestrogen levels in your body, and being a certain amount being preoduced as well as insulin levels or something, until you have enough fat storage nothing works! not oestrogen tablets or even hrt works! just eat healthy and it should eventually come back, you either lost weight too fast or still excersize too much. it makes me angry too. just do it slowly if it helps the way I saw it was put one kilo and hold it for a month, if it hasnt come back yet ill have to put on another, I hate it I hate it I hate it, dont give up hope.. I want to get my ears pierced, my mum usually wouldnt even think about it, but she sed when I get mine back I can have it so now im just anxiously waiting. goodluck

If you don’t get it back you will get osteoporosis unless you had umm abnoramally massively dense bones to begin with. If you dont have your period your body is not only not making your bones denser for later on in life- it is actually making them weaker already! Like in the menopause when you’re like 60…

So tres bad.

I haven’t got mine back yet. I’m not able to make myself put any weight on. It also depends on genetics, amount of fat/muscle, activity levels and stuff not just weight. Maybe I over-excercise.

Argh. I will trip and break all my bones in my body.

Anyway GET LOADS OF CALCIUM too, as much as possible.
