How to get rid of worms in my 4month old pit bull puppy?

my brother found a dog roaming around, actually he is a bit pull puppy about 4 months old. He barley eats and is so lazy it is crazy. He is also has a rediculously fat tummy. he breaths very heavily and shortly. He has worms no doubt and we do not have money to take him to a vet. Can anyone please tell us what to do to get rid of the worms? Thank you.

If you can’t care for him properly, then take him to the shelter. He does need worming (at the VERY least)…and therefore NEEDS to be vetted. You’re doing him no favors by keeping him. Getting a stool sample and some wormer, would cost about $35.00…he probably needs shots, too…

Don’t take him to a pound if you cant keep him take him to a no kill shelter b/c the pound will might put him down instead of taking care of him.

Answer #3

He needs a vet asap! The breathing “puppy breath” and the loss of intrest in food and weight loss are symptoms of the worms. He needs medication or he could die. it shouldn’t cost that much to take him to the vet. D not take him to the pound if you cant keep him though they will probably put him down.

you really dont have a choice … you can try some over the counter worm medicine .. |(from a pet store) .. but if it doesnt help you will have to take him to the vet .. even if he seems like he is fine he will eventually just die .. the worms are taking all his nutrients .. thats why he is skinny and “lazy” he is really sick .. I would talk to a pet store and if all else fails call the vet and explain .. and see if there is any way you can set up a payment plan .. it isnt fair for him to suffer :) hope he gets better .. I wish you both the best
