How do I gain my parents trust back?

My boyfriends parents freaked out on him then he freaked on me, and broke up wiht me, now he says he didnt mean it and he doesnt know why he said it– I like him a lot– but now my parents wont let me hang out wiht him at least for a while and he says that it was a misunderstaing when he said we are over. but he wants to know how to gain my parents respect and trust back, we need suggestions please help!!!!
