unless your dad is super rich and just wants to throw his money away $100,000 for a car for a 16 year old is NOT a good idea thats almost half the price of a house and you are 16 years old if you planned to work, you will be working for at LEAST 5 years to ever see $50,000 at your age, the last thing you want is your first car to be expensive, this is your practie car, the one youll be driving everywere your likley to make mistakes in it and maybe even crash/bump into things then your $100,000 car is worth less than $30,000 $50,000 is even too much for a first car get something cheaper that runs good, it doesnt have to be brand new you dont need to be the richest girl at school with the most expensive car you can get the expensive car when your older and have more expirience driving

This makes me giggle. Let me ask, how expensive is your dad’s car? If he’s driving something two or three times that price, I’ll give your argument a little more credit. If he’s in a Monte Carlo and you’re wanting a Benz, you need a reality check.

I highly doubt you drive that well (not drive good, as you said) because you haven’t had much experience behind the wheel. I wouldn’t trust myself with 5 years of driving under my belt to have a $100,000 car. Your chances of crashing at your age are HUGE, so that $100,000 might as well be thrown down the toilet.

When you can contribute to a portion of that car, you’ll be a lot better off. For now though, you severely need to lower your expectations and be thankful that you may be getting a car at all. Get your priorities straight girl.

Tell you what, if you personally can save up the $50,000 down payment, I’d say your dad should front the rest. It’d only be fair I guess. I don’t see that happening though at all.

Okay well I have a suggestion for you: Since you are 16 it’s time to show your parents that you are going to be a responisble adult you need to bring all your grades up and maintain them. Once youv’e done this get an after school job, it is not going to be easy! You have to keep your good grades while bringing home the paycheck and the pay check has to go straight into a bank account so you don’t spend it. Then start looking for ways to get a good scollarship now, this is so your parents won’t have to fund you with that and will have more $ twards your car. Then tell them to lease it and make monthly payments on it and show them that you’ve earned it with your grades, and the honest money you’ve saved. Also you can help out more with making dinner, chors around your home, and by not getting into any kind of trouble. This is what I did for my first car, it wasn’t my dream car but it got me where I wanted to go and not have to take the bus.

Answer #7

Lol. Uhm right. And this 50,000 is coming from where? And if you can magically come up with 50,000, surely 100,000 cant be that hard to come up with.

Answer #8

im 20 have owned two nice carrs a dodge dakota and now own a volvo s60 if you add up what I paid for both its still less then 9,000 haha I wish I could go buy a brand new 50,000 car shit id be extremely happy with any brand new car especially if my parents were paying for it . . . . and just so you know what ever car you have you will probly damage if not total not to mention insurance for a 16 year old on like a Masarati??? what car do you want?

Answer #9

There is no way you are getting a 100,000 dollar car. Unless your rich. But no parent is dumb enough to give there kid that nice of car for there first car. To much power. Look at hulk hogans kid??? In jail now because he killed his friend while driving a fast nice car. He was 17-18 years old. So good luck. Just be happy with w/e you get for a car.

Answer #10

Where are you getting 50,000 dollars from? Are you kidding me? It’s your first vehicle, get something less expensive, you’re probably not the greatest driver. Most people I know, including myself, wrote off their first vehicle in the first few years of owning it. You should aim to get a balance of fuel efficient, safe and cost effective vehicle, not some ridiculously expensive vehicle, it’s not logical.
