Are computers programed to crash after a few years?

So I was just listening to some one talk and I heard computers are prgrammed to crash after a certain number of years! So that people have to buy another one So I was wondering if that is true?

Answer #1

Well considering a Computer my parents bought in 1999 is still running, My grand parents are using my old computer from 2002, My wife has her computer from 2004. I have 2 computers one from 2006 and a new one I just purchased. All of these are still running so I’m gonna say False.

Edit. My grand parents also still have a Commodore 64 from 1987 sitting in there basement that I boot up from time to time for some good laughs. Its still working also.

It’s not true…just another conspiracy theory you can chalk up to paranoia.

Answer #4

No, the Better Business Bureau would be all over that if it was.

Answer #5

Definitely not true. If you keep up with regular PC maintenance (keep the outside clean and dust free, clean out temp. files, defragment HD, and clean up registry) then your PC should be fine for years and years.
