I have a 10 year old male yorkie; a friend wants to breed her 3 year old female. We will not be selling the puppies as we both want more for ourselves. My question is, is my male too old? I know females shouldn't carry puppies past a certain age, but will a male still have the "stuff" to reproduce??
I think female dogs cannot have puppies once they have gone past a certain age, tho I dont think it applies to male dogs. Perhaps checking with your vet would be the best way to be sure.
I think 10 years is a little too old for that. I have a 10 year old female husky/colly mix and She can't have babies anymore.
