How many strong of fishing line should I use?

I am going to be fishing for chum salmon and they average about 10 lbs. how strong should my fishing line be?

Answer #1

20 pounds. You not only have to allow for the fish’s weight but also for the drag the current might add. You also have to allow for your snagging something in the water that requires extra strength to prevent the line from breaking too easily.

    I hope you do not take offense,
    To that that's gone before;
    'Tis only that it's my two-cents,
    And not one penny more. §;o)
