So I found out a few months ago that my mom has cancer, but she didn't really explain anything to me about it. Than, I had health today and we were talking about HPVs and I remambered reading something from the doctor that said she had cervical cancer. I found out that you get cervical cancer from HPVs. I asked my mom about it and she didn't deny it or anything, but she said that since her cancer is gone the HPV is gone as well.
Is this true? because I heard that if you have HPV, you have it forever? And also, is it possible that my two little sisters might have it too (they're four and two)? because I also heard that it can take up to ten years for you to find out that you have HPV and that it can be passed on to babies.
Seriously, they were right when they said it was the half-educated who were the most dangerous. If you're going to give a genetics lesson, please study it first. Male's sperm decides the properties of the child's body? Uh ok. The male sperm decides the GENDER of the child. That is it. After that, the rest of it comes from both sides because you've got egg DNA and sperm DNA, the egg is not an oven! (I wont get into X linked and 'Y' linked factors because that is so besides the point here). Which is all BESIDES THE POINT because HPV is a virus. It's not passed through your DNA. Since baby passes through the birth canal, the baby can possibly catch it. It is rare. I mean I am sure your mother has discussed this with her doctor. You could talk to her if you're still worried. the only part I agree with above is, I'm pretty sure your sisters are fine.
As for the rest, I'm not entirely sure, but I know that your sisters can't have it, her body didn't come with that infection, and either way, it's the MALE'S SPERM that decides the properties of the child's body. Sperm = Ingredients, Egg = Oven. So if anything, your dad would have to have it for it to be passed on, and I don't even think THAT's possible, so I'm pretty sure your sisters are fine.
Thanks so much Ty, that's what I thought... just wanted some confirmation :)
