How does shaving make hair grow back thicker?

I mean, I know that the actual hair strands just grow back kinda stubbly-er but does shaving actually make new hairs grow (thus making it thicker) or what? And if so can someone please explain to my why this happens?

Answer #1

What rubbish-it might have seemed thicker, but the hair follicle doesn’t care if the hair has been cut. If it did, bold people would shave their heads to get more hair. If you use a razor the hair end is cut at an angle and so feels sharp when it starts to grow back. The thickness is no different than when the hair grows in it’s normal cycle. Also you have to wonder how accurate people will be if their argument start ‘you are a retard’ or similar. This is a scientifically proven fact & their are many web sites about it- just google it.

it does become thicker after shacing it a couple of times as gregito3 said. say if you shave your face for the first time it ends up growing faster and faster the more you shave it and it grows thicker which makes it look like you have a lot so in one way shaving your head and growing back thick hair is a good thing for people that are getting bald spots and that are losing hair I had that problem and I got worried bout it.. but now after shaving for the third time I feel that I have grown thick hair..so now my hair is about one inch and my head looks full of black hair which appeard little bald spots beofore..and shaving your hair is actually a stlye like vin diesel in fast and furious hes fully bold and hes acting so there nothing to be embarresd about iether thats what I’ve leard..hope that helped

Answer #3

Your hair isn’t really darker or thicker, it just appears that way since the hair is so short when it comes back but if you let it grow all the way back out you’ll see it’s still the same color/thickness.

Answer #4

People always say that, but it is not true. It does not make it grow back any thicker [or darker as some people also say].
